I have said it more than once, but I'm saying it again. "Holy crap on a cracker!"
I
got a print copy of this book through Smith Publicity and I thought it
sounded different so I gave it a try. I mean the blurb states an
immortality drug designed for Adolf Hitler and that was all it took. How
cray is that thought? 
So
the American medic named Steven Ronson was in Germany during World War
Two. He and some of his mates go to the concentration camp 'Dachau' and
well, find some atrocities as you can well imagine during that time. But
he also found some pills and some notes from a doctor talking about
them being an immortality drug. Steven decides to snag the whole lot and
starts taking them. <--HELLO, who takes some pills from anywhere
that you don't even - NEVERMIND!
It turns out they really are immortality drugs and they have a freaking history that goes back thousands of years.
Steven
returns home and things happen with the family and he ends up moving
away and becoming a sax player. But there are some magical things
involved in his playing and other stuff going on and because of this he
is found by a man and his niece. They know all about these immortal
monks and they want Steven to go with them to meet one of them. I mean
they had Steven all figured out and he told them all about his story
so.... off they go to China.
Listen ya'll, this book is so out
there. I don't even know how author's come up with this stuff. Well,
okay so he researched a lot and so forth, but you know what I mean.
This
book takes us through a story filled with evil monks, not so evil
monks, people hibernating for years on end, monks old enough to have met
Jesus, a planet called (Aldebaran that is a star sixty-five light years
away), the Dalai Lama, and things that I can't even begin to explain.
The
book was just bizarre enough for me to like because I love things that
are bizarre. There were some sad things that happened in the book and
some happy things, besides all of the weird stuff =) I liked some of the
characters and I thought the ending was really good. One part of it was
predictable but who cares. I also liked the author's writing style and I
didn't get confused. I thought this was going to be one of those
confusing books as I'm easily confused. I like repeating words.
CONFUSED!
It's funny because I didn't think I would like this
book at all for reasons, but when I got to that part it wasn't all that
big of a deal and it moved right along so it's all good.
All in all I enjoyed it and it was a nice, weird ending to my 2016 reading schedule!

Damn it. I didn't like this one as much as the first book. I keep
telling myself it was just my mood but at times I felt like I was
slogging through the book. 
I still loved the characters and the ghosts, so what happened? I don't know........sigh...........
The
book started off with Tiger going into some crazy rift thing following a
person to see who they were and then getting attacked by wraiths.
Sounds awesome right? Well, I don't know. She's trying to find out who
is hurting children and that is awesome. We find out a pretty good bit
about that in this book. I'm hoping there will be a wrap up in the next
book. Is this a trilogy or a regular series?
Anyway, Tiger and
Jonas are helping each other again even though he doesn't like dechet's
and that's what Tiger is, (you can read all about that in the first book
or just read the blurb to this one) but they are good working together.
And some stuff I wanted to happen did happen a little bit in this book.
I hope it happens a lot in the next book!
Cat and Bear, the
main ghosts, are in the book of course and I just love them so much. I
love all of the ghosts they have in the book. But, cat and bear are the
best! I mean the ghost thing is the whole reason I loved the first book
and liked this one.
Tiger is working undercover at Winter Halo a
bad place that they all assume are behind many evil things. Ha, that
told you a lot right?
Either way, I will read the next book to
see if this has a happy end game which I hope. This cover is also
amazing because I love anything wintery looking. =)

Let me just say that all of the book covers in this series are awesome! I
have loved every one of them and the last one is even more awesome, but
I will get to that later! 
He
looked at her and winked. "In that tower is a 'queen.'" He frowned for a
moment. Not because he was sad, but merely confused by the cultural
differences. "For some reason they call their kings by that name when
they have breasts. In any event, I must go meet this queen and kill
her."
"And that makes you smile?"
Tusk nodded. "Yes, but I
smile for a different reason. This queen, she is the protector of the
Mother-Vine. That is the god of these people. It is all around us." He
gestured and she looked, nodding.
"Yes." She paused a moment. "And?"
"If she must protect her god, either she is a very powerful warrior, or her god is very weak."
Stastha looked at him for a moment and then threw her head back, laughing so hard she could hardly breath.The
Sa'ba Taalor are killing everything in their path. That being said, I
still like the Sa'ba Taalor. I guess you just have to read the book to
understand.
I'm getting a better understanding of their gods.
They do nothing unless their gods ask them to and if I'm not mistaken
there are seven different gods.
Andover is still on a mission to
meet and get accepted by all of the gods. Delil is on her own mission
but she is with Andover along the way. I have a feeling something really
EPIC is going to happen with Andover!
Drask is still doing
whatever it is his god has asked him to do and I'm excited to find out
what that could be AND he better not be killed. Drask seems to be very
level headed though, just something about him.
There are some deaths and it was sad but that is the way of it. Right?
The
ending gave me a few chills. The Silent Army has risen and what are
they going to do? What is everyone going to do? I guess I will find out
in the last book!

I love the green UK edition of this book. I just love all the UK editions of these books!
I
have enjoyed this book more than the first three. I like how we get to
see more into Simon's vampire world and what he is now. He's like
totally bad to the bone, but not in a dude way because he's still Simon
the nerd we love. But, in a can't touch this kinda way. If you have read
the book or read the book you will know what I mean. 
I
loved the new character, Kyle/Jordon. He's cool and I like him a lot. I
hope he's in the next few books. He has a past with one of the
characters in the books.
Clary and Jace are trying to make a go of it but there seems to be something wrong with Jace. I wonder what it could be.
There are a lot of sweet things, cool things and evil things going on in the book.
There's also Lilith. That's a fun walk in the park! 
That ending . . . more fun times will ensue!

That ending was pretty freaking awesome! 
For the record; there wasn't enough of Drask in the book and I have already said I am in love with him from the first book.
I
was thrilled to read about Andover Iron Hands and how much his life
changed when he went back to be with the Sa'ba Taalor. He had to go
through some trials in order to meet with one of their gods. I just
think the whole thing with Andover was freaking awesome, these were my
favorite parts of the book!
Swech wasn't in the book too much
either but she has some stuff she's got going on and a little secret,
maybe more. They will come out in later books.
I still love
Merros and although he was in the book a great bit not a whole lot was
going on with him. He is the leader of the army and at Empress Nachia's
side. I think the Emperor was right in picking her for the Empress after
his death because she's pretty bad-@ssed!
I feel like this book
was leading up to some serious battles in the next two books. There are
a lot of things going on with different groups and I'm not sure how
it's all going to turn out, I just really hope all of the people I love
won't die.
I still don't trust the wizard, Desh. I'm not sure
why but I feel like something is going to come out about him later on. I
may be wrong and he's a great person. We shall see.
Oh, oh and
we get to find out why the Sa'ba Taalor wear the mask thingies over
their faces and it's wicked cray! I mean wicked cray!
Overall I
enjoyed the book. I did have some moments where it dragged for me when
it was just meh stuff with the humans and what not. I mean we got these
cool people things and their gods and I want to know all of their stuff.

WOW! HOLY CRAP ON A CRACKER! THIS BOOK!
FYI: This book is on kindle unlimited right now if anyone is interested.
This is one of the coolest zombie novels I have ever read. It's not a long book at all, I would consider it a novella of sorts.
Sooooo,
those that have the zombie virus are put into hospice care in hospital
wards. Those that are lucky and have family members etc. that want to do
that sort of thing. There are still the few out there that have to get
gunned down or try to eat you and stuff. They are called zombies,
smilers, or bone-eaters. These zombies like bones, the spine being the
most tasty I guess.
Anyhoo, so you have Emily that took a job at
one of the facilities as a nurse. She has a little girl named Lucette
and a past they ran away from.
Lucette is 12 and goes to school
while Emily is at work and she gets off in time to pick her up from
school so it all works out. Until the stupid day Lucette does something
stupid at school and gets suspended until after the holidays. AND Emily
takes her to work with her and tells her to stay in the break room.
<--Okay, this is the part to me, where stupid kicks in, you don't
take your kids where there are people that will turn into zombies if
they are not put down in time. (Now lets back track)
Oh and here is a little picture what was in the kindle version of a smiler and his family member. 
So, there are only a few people working at the hospice because . . . . well, do I have to state the obvious?
There
is a dude who is a jerk that works there, Mama Metcalf who is in her
70's and is a volunteer (I love her by the way) and the boss lady who's
name I just forgot, right this minute, I just forgot it!!!!
There are some other randoms that were not really mentioned too much.
Outside the place you have the protesters that are there every day basically going on about killing the zombies.
Then
you have The Crowners - they come in and do the crowning. They are the
killers, they take them out when they are at that point of turning.
There
is a boy named Robby that is only 12 years old that was dropped off by
his parents. They wanted nothing to do with him. And Robby wasn't
bitten, he got infected in a horrific way that I will not say in my
review. Everyone there tries to make it better for Robby. Emily even
lets Lucette visit him - um, NO! <--STUPID ON AISLE FIVE!
So
there is a whole story line in the present and past with Emily and there
are a few fun times to be had at Christmas and New Year with Emily,
Lucette and Mama Metcalf. Then the cray sets in as always.
The
Crowners have arrived to take care of another patient. Some nut job from
the protestors gets in and kills one of the workers inside. In all of
the time wasted with cray cray, the patient (sorry they are called
guests) turns and starts eating people. Yeah, but one ole Crowner takes
that zombie out with a bullet to the head.
The book has plenty
of blood and guts and ewww parts and a hand job which is also ewww
because of reasons so it's a little graphic for the youngsters.
I
loved the book and that ending! Uggg, I wanted to smack so many people I
didn't know where to start first! But all kidding aside I thought the
book was an awesome take in the zombie world.

Okay, I'm going to do a little *spoilery* in this review so those of
you that haven't read the book then you might just want to look at the
pictures. I have picked a ton of pictures from the book but believe me,
there are plenty more beautiful ones in the book. Plus, if your a Harry
Potter fan you will be getting the book anyway if you haven't already!
So
poor Harry is stuck back with the Dursley's on Privet Drive. And even
though Harry is a relative, they still treat him like poo because he's
magical. Ewwwwww.
Harry is depressed because he has be cut off
from talking to his friends or getting any kind of correspondence. Even
poor Hedwig has been locked in her cage and hasn't been able to fly
around. CRUEL! But Harry can't use magic inside the muggle world.
Then Harry meets Doby - the little house-elf that is waiting for him in his room. 
It
turns out that Doby has been intercepting his correspondence because he
fears for Harry's life and doesn't want him to return to Hogwarts. So
Doby causes some problems at the house that get Harry in trouble. I had
to add this cute little picture of Doby running off, look at his little
butt. lol ↓
Then
one night, Ron, George and Fred pull up outside Harry's window in their
dads flying car to save Harry. It's pretty funny how they get it all
going but that is okay as long as Harry gets away from his evil
relatives. 
Of
course, Mrs. Weasley is not pleased when they get back home. The
sneaking out part didn't work very well, but she welcomed Harry with
open arms and he stayed with them until it was time for them all to go
back to school. 
I love that picture of the Weasley house =) Life
at The Burrow was as different as possible from life in Privet Drive.
The Dursleys liked everything neat and ordered; the Weasleys' house
burst with the strange and unexpected. Harry got a shock the first time
he looked in the mirror over the kitchen mantlepiece and it shouted,
'Tuck your shirt in, scruffy!' The ghoul in the attic howled and dropped
pipes whenever he felt things were getting too quiet, and small
explosions from Fred and George's bedroom were considered perfectly
normal. What Harry found most unusual about life at Ron's, however,
wasn't the talking mirror or the clanking ghoul: it was the fact that
everybody there seemed to like himPoor sweet Harry and I would love to live with the Weasleys' for a bit =)

The
kids are going to meet Hermione to get some shopping done. But ole
Harry takes a wrong turn down the chimney hole and ends up in some
creepy shop. He hides and gets to hear some things Malfoy and his father
are talking about.
Finally Harry makes it out of the store and Hagrid finds him and gets him to the right place with his friends. 
Then Ron and Harry are blocked from getting on the train soooooo back to stealing the flying car. 
AND of course they get into trouble when they get to Hogwarts but it wasn't anything too bad.
Snape
looked as though Christmas had been cancelled. He cleared his throat
and said. 'Professor Dumbledore, these boys have flouted the Decree for
the Restriction of Underage Wizardry, caused serious damage to an old
and valuable tree . . . surely acts of this nature . . .
'It will be
for Professor McGonagall to decide on these boys' punishments,
Severus,' said Dumbledore calmly. 'They are in her house and are
therefore her responsibility.' He turned to Professor McGonagall. 'I
must go back to the feast, Minerva, I've got to give out a few notices.
Come, Severus, there's a delicious-looking custard tart I want to
sample.'
There is a new Defence Against the Dark Arts professor named Gideroy Lockhart. He's a bit off but still . . . 
Anyway things are not right at Hogwarts. (are they ever?) And Harry and the gang must figure out what's going on.
Poor ole Hagrid gets sent off to Azkaban for something he didn't do! 
Malfoy is a jerk, as if we didn't know that. lol 
Harry and Ron go out in the woods to meet Aragog the spider that is friends of Hagrid to find out some truth behind some stuff. 
Comes
to find out there is this diary of a person named Tom Riddle. I'm not
telling you who this person really is but they are the one causing all
kinds of trouble for a lot of people.
In the end Harry has to
end up fighting a Basilisk to set things right. He has the help of the
sorting hat for reasons, Dumbledore's Phoenix and a sword. Oh happy day!
There
is loads more to the book then the things I have described but you can
just read it and if you haven't, why haven't you? Harry Potter rocks and
always will.
There is another happy ending for sweet Doby! ♥
Harry gives Dobby his stinky sock so this releases Doby. He now has his freedom from the evil Lucius Malfoy! Woot! 'Come, Dobby, I said, Come!'
But
Dobby didn't move. He was holding up Harry's disgusting, slimy sock,
and looking at it as though it were a priceless treasure.
'Master has given Dobby a sock,' said the elf in wonderment. 'Master gave it to Dobby.'
'What's that?' spat Mr. Malfoy. 'What did you say?'
'Dobby has got a sock,' said Dobby in disbelief. 'Master threw it, and Dobby caught it, and Dobby-Dobby is free.'
Lucius Malfoy stood frozen, staring at the elf. Then he lunged for Harry.
'You've lost me my servant, boy!'
But Dobby shouted, 'You shall not harm Harry Potter!'
There
was a loud bang, and Mr. Malfoy was thrown backwards. He crashed down
the stairs, three at a time, landing in a crumbled heap on the landing
below. He got up, his face livid, and pulled out his wand, but Dobby
raised a long threatening finger.
'You shall go now,' he said fiercely, pointing down at Mr. Malfoy. 'You shall not touch Harry Potter. You shall go now.'
Lucius
Malfoy had no choice. With a last, incensed stare at the pair of them,
he swung his cloak around him ad hurried out of sight.This book is wonderful, it always has been and always will, and the graphics in this book make it even better. ♥

I freaking loved this graphic novel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First off, I thought the graphics in this book were amazing! And now I need the next one! 
Soooo,
Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew) is preggers! And it's so awesome, so
freaking awesome! Okay, I need to quit saying that but I had so much fun
with this book. I laughed and I loved the bad arse pregnant super hero.
Now, on with the show!
Carol (Captain Marvel) has been trying
get get Jess to go to the Intergalactic Hospital on her dollar so Jess
can get checked out nice and proper. Well of course on the day Jess
decides to go for a visit, the hospital gets attacked by Skrulls. They
are there to get someone. And Jess wants to take them out but she's
trying to hold off because of the whole pregnant thing. 
Well that didn't work out. She just pretends she's going into labor and then kicks butt! Wahoo! 
Jess
is on the phone on and off with Carol but Carol can't get in because
the Skrulls have blocked the passage so to speak and there are more
coming. Yay! Not
So basically Jess gets the kid prince those
Skrulls are after, ends up having to have a c-section, has baby, gets
fixed up quick, kicks those evil butts and then wakes up a little later
in the hospital bed all rested with a bouncing baby boy =) The end! Lol,
there is a lot more to it than that but that's the basic what's it. 
I think I already mentioned how awesome this book was and that I want more! Spider-Woman is bad to the bone! 
Also,
I need to see if they have a Funko Pop of her to go with my MASSIVE
collection of F Pops of all kinds of people and things. :-D

I love Lauren Graham! 
I
loved her in Gilmore Girls most of all! Duh. And I also loved her in
Parenthood. But Gilmore Girls takes the cake, the old and the new! Woot!
I
loved hearing stories about when Lauren was a child like living on the
houseboat. I would loved to have seen that in real life! She has a lot
of different stories that go back and forth from now and then. It was a
little confusing at times but I guess that's why it's called a book of
essays!
She even writes like Lorelai Gilmore sounds. <--- If that makes sense, does to me, but I'm weird and I don't care. Some
of the most exciting things that happened in my life took place before I
turned six years old. I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, which his awesome
right there, but three weeks later, before I even had time to work on
my tan, we moved to Japan. JAPAN. The home of my most favorite food
ever: mashed peas. Well, that was probably my favorite food back then;
what a waste, since I could have been eating spicy tuna rolls with extra
wasabi. Damn you, Baby Lauren, and your infantile palate! Well, to be
fair, you were an infant. Sorry I yelled.For the most part I enjoyed the book. Some parts lagged a little hence my 4 star rating. I also love the book cover!
