Stolen Songbird by Danielle L. Jensen

For those who have loved Seraphina and Graceling comes another truly fabulous fantasy...

For five centuries, a witch’s curse has bound the trolls to their city beneath the ruins of Forsaken Mountain. Time enough for their dark and nefarious magic to fade from human memory and into myth. But a prophesy has been spoken of a union with the power to set the trolls free, and when Cécile de Troyes is kidnapped and taken beneath the mountain, she learns there is far more to the myth of the trolls than she could have imagined.

Cécile has only one thing on her mind after she is brought to Trollus: escape. Only the trolls are clever, fast, and inhumanly strong. She will have to bide her time, wait for the perfect opportunity.

But something unexpected happens while she’s waiting – she begins to fall for the enigmatic troll prince to whom she has been bonded and married. She begins to make friends. And she begins to see that she may be the only hope for the half-bloods – part troll, part human creatures who are slaves to the full-blooded trolls. There is a rebellion brewing. And her prince, Tristan, the future king, is its secret leader.

As Cécile becomes involved in the intricate political games of Trollus, she becomes more than a farmer’s daughter. She becomes a princess, the hope of a people, and a witch with magic powerful enough to change Trollus forever. @goodreads

MY REVIEW:

Read from March 28 to April 14, 2015

Another awesome book! I had no idea I would love this book so much. This is my first real troll book, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised and I'm looking forward to the next book!

I am rooting for Cecile and Tristan. I hope they can get back together and work things out. I hope Cecile nails that witch that caused all of these problems!

It was so cool they were living in a land underground, called Trollus. I mean, it's not cool they were cursed to stay underground by an evil witch, but still, they made it nice down there. Well, there are the creatures that want to eat you, they have a name, but I keep calling them the big sucky worms in my head so forget their real name :) And they do have what they call earthshakes that drop tons of rock and kill many.

They have troll, humans and human troll inbreeds in the community. Tristan's dad is the King and a jerk so we need to get rid of him. There are a few more jerks and a few nice peep troll things :)

Cecile originally is stolen from the normal world by a so called friend and sold to the trolls. They wanted her to try to break the curse. But in the end Cecile starts to have feelings for her new troll husband Tristan. They are kind of funny and sweet about falling in love.

Anyway, I loved it and their better be some good arse kicking of a witch in the next one. And a few more people for that matter! 5 Stars
