I thought this book was ok. Most of the time I only read books in order, but sometimes you can read one out of order and it's fine as a stand alone. This was not the case with this book, you really need to read the first book. Most of the beginning of the book makes references to the first book and with the in-depth storyline you need to know what all is going on.

You have Maddy, who is a human and MJ, who is an angel that she is love with. Something really major went down in the first book so I was kind of lost most of the time.

There were other people, angels, demons in the book. They kept going in and out dreams using essences from the demons and the angels. They can also alter your reality as well.

I do believe this is a good book in general, it has the potential to be a good trilogy or series. So, don't give up on the book by my review, just start from the first one. I'm intrigued enough to read the first one at some point and then this one again.
