These Vicious Masks by Tarun Shanker & Kelly Zekas

England, 1882. Evelyn is bored with society and its expectations. So when her beloved sister, Rose, mysteriously vanishes, she ignores her parents and travels to London to find her, accompanied by the dashing Mr. Kent. But they’re not the only ones looking for Rose. The reclusive, young gentleman Sebastian Braddock is also searching for her, claiming that both sisters have special healing powers. Evelyn is convinced that Sebastian must be mad, until she discovers that his strange tales of extraordinary people are true—and that her sister is in graver danger than she feared. @goodreads

I enjoyed this book a great deal. A lot of my friends here on goodreads didn't like it too much but I did =)

Evelyn and Rose are sisters and they supposedly have powers. They are told they have the powers of healing by a man named Sebastian Braddock. Mr. Braddock seems like a jerk when we first meet him but he has his reasons and it is a very good reason indeed. Mr. Braddock also has powers.

When Rose goes missing one night and leaves a sketchy note saying she's going to London to be a nurse/doctor, Evelyn heads out to find her sister. Their parents are jerks and I won't go into that.

But Evelyn is not alone. She is accompanied by a sort of love interest, Nickolas Kent and of course Mr. Braddock shows up.

They all end up finding out some revelations, some other people with powers, some not so nice things and a hopeful ending.

I enjoyed it and will have to get the next two books < -- Naturally!

Happy Reading!
