I had no idea this was the 3rd book in a series/trilogy. You wouldn't know it because it reads fine as a stand alone, so don't worry if you read it out of order.
Ivy has come back to Birch Creek after helping her cousin in Michigan. Actually, it's been a year. Ivy dated an Amish man named, John, while she was there. She swore her cousin to not tell anyone.
When Ivy returned home, she got one letter from John and nothing else for a year.
Meanwhile, Noah has come to town from Ohio. He's there to help his aunt Cevilla in going through her attic. Noah asked Ivy to help him, per aunt Cevilla.
Ivy and Noah get closer together while doing this work. They slowly fall in love and I think that was bittersweet.
They find some letters in the attic that bring them closer together.
John does come back into the picture when he is with a friend and making a delivery to where Ivy works. He wants Ivy back but luckily she's having none of it.
The story is sweet and has a happy ending.
