Yeah, I have cancer?

So here's the update. I went to the oncologist today because I had some cancer cells show up.

He couldn't do the biopsy today because I was in too much pain.

Next week I go so he can put me to sleep and do a biopsy on my cervix & uterus and check my bladder and colon.

Then I get a ct scan with some kind of cancer dye.

Then I get some kind of surgery to insert some thing in my chest where they can easily insert the thing for my chemo and radiation.

Then maybe surgery.

Isn't life grand.

Funny thing is, I have been telling my doctors for almost a year I have cancer down there somewhere and they all just thought it was my mental disorders kicking in. Well, I showed them didn't I. My pap smear showed cancer cells when I went a few weeks ago and then I went Monday for the ultrasound and then today to the oncologist and you know the rest.

I will let y'all know as I go or until I can't any more from all that I'm going to be going through.

Thank you for your prayers.

Mel

  1. I'm so sorry to hear this Mel. There are no words to say that can make you feel better or make this magically go away. If there were I would say them for you in an instant. I saw your post on Goodreads and followed your link here. Stay positive my friend! Medicine is coming so far these days and you are strong, remember that.

    1. Yep, it sure is. I will take a break from posting when the chemo starts in a few weeks. I have some other tests and stuff to go through first.

  3. Hi Mel, I didn't know you were diagnosed with cancer. I am going to be sending lots of prayers for you and your doctors as you fight this thing. You have always been such an inspiration to the Goodreads community. Know that you will be terribly missed while you are attending to your health. Check in when you can, and always remember that you are loved by many. XOXOXO

  4. I just found your blog through your May Fairyloot post (I have one going up soon as I got my box today!) Anyway, I've just seen this post and I'm heartbroken for you. My Mum has had Breast Cancer since 2013. It's now growing again after going through Chemo so they're looking into medication and then Radiotherapy. I hope everything works out for you and I'm so sorry that you weren't listened to when you first told your doctor. Message me if you'd like. I'm sure loads of people have offered the same and I'm just another stranger on the internet... thinking of you! Take care xo
