My Cancer

I started my radiation today. I'm going to take a hiatus from my blog and probably most of the internet while I take this new journey. If I make it through, I don't know if I will be back but we shall see. When you get a life threatening disease, a lot of things don't seem as important any more.

Thank you all for continuing to be my friends.

Peace and love.

The Starfall Edition Box (Sarah J. Maas) by Illumicrate

This will probably be my last unboxing for some time as I'm to start my radiation Monday the 21st for 5 days a week for 5 weeks and chemo 1 day a week for 5 to 6 weeks.  We came back from my Radiologist Oncologist consultation today and this box is just what I needed. It was an extremely stressful time. So lets crack on with the good stuff =)

My poor box above was beat up and I was afraid of some damage. All I had was my lip balm lid had fallen off but it was all good =)

The picture below is what I saw when I opened the tissue.

The following picture is of the book itself, a note from Sarah J. Maas and we have a little wing mirror enamel necklace inspired by Rhys, Cassian and Azriel from Mirror Image Accessories.

Next up we have the Inner Circle tarot style cards and they are just lovely. Designed by Monolime.

Next we have one of my favorites, a Prythian-inspired constellation book sleeve in Sparrow + Wolf's signature geometric style. I love it so much. AND we have a beautiful art card of Feyre & Rhys. (I also picture in my mind Rhys having long beautiful hair and kind of like Loki =) I hate short hair on my fantasy men, for the most part. But the card is beautiful.

Next we have this freaking awesome two-sided scarf with the symbols of the seven courts on both sides. Pattern designed by Evannave.

Next we have a beautiful layered candle by Two Candle Thieves. A Truth-teller Lip Balm and you can tell no lies. Inspired by Morrigan's red lips and Azriel's magic knife. And a cute little metal bookmark.

Next we have a wonderful set of playing cards featuring all of our favorite characters and items from the series by Keep of the Suns. I didn't want to open these so y'all don't get to see on my post what's on them but since I read that there are characters etc, I'm going to open them for myself now. I know, I'm sorry. And we have an enamel pin set, Stars Eternal and Night Triumphant by Fable and Black.

Next we have some wonderful socks that have Feyre's tattoos on them and designed by Illumicrate =D And we have a stunning little mug with Feyre and Rhys on it by Charlie Bowater.

And last but not least, we have a beautiful tote bag! I totally love it and the artwork is by, Ink & Wonder.

I hope you have enjoyed all of the pictures as much as I loved sharing them.

Happy Reading and keep reaching for the stars!

A Court Of Frost And Starlight by Sarah J. Maas

The Winter Solstice. In a week. I was still new enough to being High Lady that I had no idea what my formal role was to be. If we'd have a High Priestess do some odious ceremony, as lanthe had done the year before. A year. Gods, nearly a year since Rhys had called in his bargain, desperate to get me away from the poison of the Spring Court to save me from my despair. Had he been only a minute later, the Mother knew what would have happened. Where I'd now be. Snow swirled and eddied in the garden, catching in the brown fibers of the burlap covering the shrubs My mate who had worked so hard and so selflessly, all without hope that I would ever be with him We had both fought for that love, bled for it. Rhys had died for it. @goodreads

I can't believe it's here and gone! It's hard to read a little novella from Sarah but knowing there are more books in this series coming makes me both happy and scared. I don't want to see any of my loves die so I'm hoping for the best.

This book was everything a novella should be, I got to fall in love with my characters AGAIN! They make me so happy! But I'm ready to get back to some lovely fat books in this world. Never ending.

To the stars who listen, Feyre.

To the dreams that are answered, Rhys.

Happy Reading!

Fairyloot April Unboxing (They sent it to me late!)

I just got my April Fairyloot today (May 3, 2018) They did send me an email saying it was going to be shipped on April 30th. I kind of thing it was on purpose but I can't say for sure. I will probably have to stop getting most of my book boxes soonish anyway. Things change when you get cancer.

Anyway, here we go and I hope you enjoy =)

The following picture is a tote bag inspired by The Hobbit. Designed by Stella's Bookish Art.

*Next is the card from the box that has the stuff on the back and the bookmark that goes with it. I love these as they have a unicorn on them =) *We also have a beautiful card with Fictional Places which I think is cool. This is by Fictiontea Designs. *And there is a bookmark of These Fates Divide

* The next picture has a Carpe Diem Notepad designed by Little Inkling Designs. The quote is from The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken and means "seize the day" in Latin. *There is an emamel pin of Blackjack and was designed by Taratjah. Blackjack is Percy's black pegasus. I love it! *And we have a button of the Ace of Shades.

*Next we have a Magical Beasts Luggage Tag designed by Lovely Owls Books. *And a reusable Narnia Coffee Mug. Designed by Ink and Wonder and features a map. It's pretty cool!

And last but not least we have the book of the month. Beyond a Darkened Shore by Jessica Leake. I wanted this book too so I'm excited for it. We also got a sticker and a signed bookplate. One of my favorite things it the note the author usually writes is actually on the back of that beautiful card with Leif and Ciara from the book on the print. I also added the candle in this picture because it's Leif's Ship candle designed by Flick The Wick. I thought it belonged in this shot. =)

I hope you have enjoyed and Happy Reading to one and all!

Circe by Madeline Miller

In the house of Helios, god of the sun and mightiest of the Titans, a daughter is born. But Circe is a strange child--not powerful, like her father, nor viciously alluring like her mother. Turning to the world of mortals for companionship, she discovers that she does possess power--the power of witchcraft, which can transform rivals into monsters and menace the gods themselves.

Threatened, Zeus banishes her to a deserted island, where she hones her occult craft, tames wild beasts and crosses paths with many of the most famous figures in all of mythology, including the Minotaur, Daedalus and his doomed son Icarus, the murderous Medea, and, of course, wily Odysseus.

But there is danger, too, for a woman who stands alone, and Circe unwittingly draws the wrath of both men and gods, ultimately finding herself pitted against one of the most terrifying and vengeful of the Olympians. To protect what she loves most, Circe must summon all her strength and choose, once and for all, whether she belongs with the gods she is born from, or the mortals she has come to love. @goodreads

This book was pretty awesome! I loved all of the gods and Circe's story line. Although, I did feel sorry for her in many ways.

It's just a fun book and I was happily surprised.

Happy Reading!

PS ~ My reviews are becoming shorter & will be on hiatus soon when I go into chemo. I'm not sure if I will come back but we shall see. Thank you to those that have supported me. If you're looking for huge reviews, it's just not important to me anymore.

Send Down The Rain by Charles Martin

Allie's second husband is killed tragically when his 18-wheeler crashes into the rocks near their home in Cape San Blas--the tanker was full of fuel and the explosion could be seen on overhead satellites. She'd already lost the beloved waterfront restaurant her parents started and now losing her husband, no matter how unfulfilling their marriage was, might just push her over the edge.

Joseph's time in Vietnam left him with scars that never seemed to heal. No matter how he's tried to love or what he's tried to do since then, he can't pull himself out of the wreckage of his former life. His trust and security shaken, he isolates himself in a cabin. But every morning, he faithfully pours two cups of coffee, drinking his while he sits with the second, and then pouring out the full cup.

It's no small coincidence that Joseph found a mother and her two young children lost in the woods near his cabin. Or that when he helps them return to family in Florida, he's near enough to see that explosion. Near enough to know it's close to home. Near enough to know that his childhood sweetheart needs him.

The years have built so much distance between them, but it's the secrets that may be their final undoing. Send Down the Rain reminds us of the beauty of truth . . . and the power of love to wash away the past @goodreads

*Thank you to BookLookBloggers for a print copy of his book.*

This book is a sad and moving book. It's about PTSD, abuse, addiction, forgiveness and family.

Joseph left his love Allie behind to go to Vietnam. Joseph had many horrific ordeals in the war and finally came home with PTSD. He's trying to live a quiet life in the woods with his dog. But fate seems to bring him back to his old home town and Allie.

Allie has been married twice and she's having some problems getting her life back together. Will Allie and Joseph be able to find each other again? Will they be able to get through all of the hurdles of the past and the present?

I thought this was a lovely book.

Happy Reading!
