The Valiant by Lesley Livingston

Princess. Captive. Gladiator.

Fallon is the daughter of a proud Celtic king, the sister of the legendary warrior Sorcha, and the sworn enemy of Julius Caesar.

When Fallon was a child, Caesar’s armies invaded her homeland, and her beloved sister was killed in battle.

Now, on the eve of her seventeenth birthday, Fallon is eager to follow in her sister’s footsteps and earn her place in the fearsome Cantii war band. She never gets the chance.

Fallon is captured and sold to an elite training school for female gladiators—owned by none other than Julius Caesar. In a cruel twist of fate, the man who destroyed Fallon’s family might be her only hope of survival.

Now Fallon must overcome vicious rivalries and deadly fights—in and out of the arena. And perhaps the most dangerous threat of all: her forbidden yet irresistible feelings for Cai, a young Roman soldier.

"Cowards die many times before their deaths;
The valiant never taste of death but once."
-William Shakespeare, Julius Caesar

 :

I bloody freaking loved this book!

The first book in this series/trilogy/dualogy is amazing.

Fallon is in training to become one of her father's war chiefs. She's in love with an awesome guy named Mael and everything is looking perfect. But it isn't and it all falls apart.

Fallon is taken and sold into slavery which ends up getting her into a school to train to become a gladiatrix. She belongs to Caesar who is her sworn enemy.

Along the way she meets another slave named Elka and I just love her. She ends up being a great friend to Fallon and an awesome fighter as well. I love both of these characters. There are a few other characters that are awesome but I can't name them because it's a secret!

There is a Roman soldier named Caius (Cai) that has taken a fancy to Fallon and we will see where this leads later on.

I loved the battles although I hate that the girls were slaves and forced into this life. But, Fallon is happy, she wanted to be a fighter just not in this sense and for Caesar. But so many things are not what they seem in this book. I teared up at a few parts.

There is nothing left to say accept this is a bad arsed book to start the series. I know some people don't like the slow building up to stuff. There really isn't any slow building up to anything in this book. I think it's amaze balls!

The Walls Around Us by Nova Ren Suma

On the outside, there's Violet, an eighteen-year-old dancer days away from the life of her dreams when something threatens to expose the shocking truth of her achievement.

On the inside, within the walls of the Aurora Hills juvenile detention center, there's Amber, locked up for so long she can't imagine freedom.

Tying their two worlds together is Orianna, who holds the key to unlocking all the girls' darkest mysteries…

What really happened on the night Orianna stepped between Violet and her tormentors? What really happened on two strange nights at Aurora Hills? Will Amber and Violet and Orianna ever get the justice they deserve—in this life or in another one?

In prose that sings from line to line, Nova Ren Suma tells a supernatural tale of guilt and of innocence, and of what happens when one is mistaken for the other. @goodreads

MY REVIEW

5 STARS

At first I wasn't sure about this book because I kept getting really confused! BUT, the author set it up just perfectly, in my opinion at any rate.

On this night, the first Saturday of that now-infamous August, there were forty-one girls locked up in the Aurora Hills Secure Juvenile Detention Center in the far northern reaches of the state, which meant we were one shy of full capacity. We weren't yet forty-two.

Amber, Violet & Orianna - they are all three connected. But how are they connected . . . .

As I watched, a gust of wind blew what appeared to be a bundle of loose twigs and leaves across the grimy floor. It looked like no one had cleaned the floor in years.

I didn't think, not consciously, about what I did next. I started down the stairs, straight for the intruder. She was connected to this, somehow. She'd made this happen. I reached flat ground and went running. I sped up so much that I couldn't get my feet to stop and almost rammed into her, and I wanted her to fall, wanted her flat on her back doing some explaining.

Except there was no her.
I rammed through air.

 :

Violet and Orianna (Ori) were close friends. They were ballerina's. They wanted to go on and become the best they could be, but something happened. What broke these two girls apart. Why did one go away and one stay.

 :

All of the answers slowing come to light at the Aurora Hills Detention Center.

 :

This book is part ghost story, part revenge and a whole lot of cray. I FREAKING loved it!

His Majesty's Dragon by Naomi Novik

Aerial combat brings a thrilling new dimension to the Napoleonic Wars as valiant warriors ride mighty fighting dragons, bred for size or speed. When HMS Reliant captures a French frigate and seizes the precious cargo, an unhatched dragon egg, fate sweeps Captain Will Laurence from his seafaring life into an uncertain future – and an unexpected kinship with a most extraordinary creature. Thrust into the rarified world of the Aerial Corps as master of the dragon Temeraire, he will face a crash course in the daring tactics of airborne battle. For as France’s own dragon-borne forces rally to breach British soil in Bonaparte’s boldest gambit, Laurence and Temeraire must soar into their own baptism of fire. @goodreads

MY REVIEW:

5 STARS

 :

****I reckon' I'm going to be spoilery!****

Once again I'm going to say, "Why did it take me so long to read this?" I love finding these little gems that I have had around FOREVER!

I fell right in love with Temeraire! And I love Laurence and his love for Temeraire, he really knew how to take care of his dragon! I want one too dang it.

Laurence was a captain on a Naval ship when they found a French ship with an egg on it. Well, of course they took the egg and when it hatched, the little black dragon picked Laurence. Well, life as he knew it was over as he was going to have to leave the Navy and train with the Aerial Corps. They ride dragons and have a crew on the dragon with you and fight the enemy. Oh what joy!

I loved all of the dragons in the book and there were several of the men and women I loved too. I mean this is just an awesome book full of wonderful people and dragons.

Well, there was this one ole bastard named Rankin and he treated his little dragon Levitas horribly! I hated him and I felt so sorry for Levitas. Laurence started doing nice things for the little dragon and it was so sweet.

Oh, oh and the dragons talk! For the love of all that's holy, I want a talking dragon! I wish my dog could talk too but then they both would probably drive me crazy, but I digress!

Anyway, most of the book is about training Laurence and Temeraire with the other dragons and captains but it was so much fun. There are a few battles they get into a little later but setting up this world was so freaking awesome. I have never had so much fun. I mean talking dragons, how could you not love it. The camaraderie between the humans, dragons and other humans were amaze balls.

This book has went on my favorites list and I sooooooo look forward to the rest of the books!

Wires and Nerve by Marissa Meyer

In her first graphic novel, #1 New York Times and USA Today bestseller Marissa Meyer follows Iko, the beloved android from the Lunar Chronicles, on a dangerous and romantic new adventure -- with a little help from Cinder and the Lunar team.

In her first graphic novel, bestselling author Marissa Meyer extends the world of the Lunar Chronicles with a brand-new, action-packed story about Iko, the android with a heart of (mechanized) gold. When rogue packs of wolf-hybrid soldiers threaten the tenuous peace alliance between Earth and Luna, Iko takes it upon herself to hunt down the soldiers' leader. She is soon working with a handsome royal guard who forces her to question everything she knows about love, loyalty, and her own humanity. With appearances by Cinder and the rest of the Rampion crew, this is a must-have for fans of the bestselling series. @goodreads

MY REVIEW:

4 STARS

What a cute little graphic novel! I love The Lunar Chronicles!

In this first book we touch base with all of the main characters from the books, some more so than others. I'm sure they will all have major parts in the other books in the series.

In this one Iko is running around taking down some of the wolf pack hybrids that Levana had made during her reign. They were all supposed to come in and get rehabilitated But that didn't really happen.

Also, Kai is off doing stuff and Cinder has some plans of her own that the council doesn't like. Scarlet and Wolf are on their farm which is sweet.

Carswell and Cress are running around with Iko after one point. It will all come together when you read the novel. I sooooooooooooooo look forward to however many Marissa Meyers is going to do in this series.

I will leave you with a few pics. =)

Caraval by Stephanie Garber

Whatever you've heard about Caraval, it doesn't compare to the reality. It's more than just a game or a performance. It's the closest you'll ever find to magic in this world . . .

Welcome, welcome to Caraval―Stephanie Garber’s sweeping tale of two sisters who escape their ruthless father when they enter the dangerous intrigue of a legendary game.

Scarlett has never left the tiny island where she and her beloved sister, Tella, live with their powerful, and cruel, father. Now Scarlett’s father has arranged a marriage for her, and Scarlett thinks her dreams of seeing Caraval, the far-away, once-a-year performance where the audience participates in the show, are over.

But this year, Scarlett’s long-dreamt of invitation finally arrives. With the help of a mysterious sailor, Tella whisks Scarlett away to the show. Only, as soon as they arrive, Tella is kidnapped by Caraval’s mastermind organizer, Legend. It turns out that this season’s Caraval revolves around Tella, and whoever finds her first is the winner.

Scarlett has been told that everything that happens during Caraval is only an elaborate performance. But she nevertheless becomes enmeshed in a game of love, heartbreak, and magic with the other players in the game. And whether Caraval is real or not, she must find Tella before the five nights of the game are over, a dangerous domino effect of consequences is set off, and her sister disappears forever.

My February Owlcrate Box!

 :

HOLY CRAP ON A CRACKER! Loved it!

I guess I should put up the big ole spoiler label just in case I get spoilery!

 :

First off let me just get this off my chest. I wanted to smack Scarlett about 15 times during the book because she said this one thing about 50 billion times.

I have to get back to get married. I have to get back to get married. I have to get back to get married. I have to get back to get married. I have to get back to get married. <-- Okay those are not the EXACT words but still - ya get me?

But I digress =)

The sexual tension between Scarlett and Julian could melt butter! And gave me some twinges at times. Good twinges!

I guess I should just crack on with the book =)

Soooooooooooo, Scarlett and Donatell (Tella) have a jerk face for a father and they are stuck on an island with him. He will do horrible things to them or other people if they dare try to escape. But Scarlett has a way out, she is to marry some dude her father set her up with and take her sister, Tella, with her. Scarlett has never met this man and her father won't tell her anything about him. Like that's not sketchy.

When Scarlett was younger she used to write letters to Master Legend for years trying to get him to come to their island with his Caraval. Of course he never comes but one day many moons later he sends a letter to Scarlett inviting her and Tella and a guest to his Caraval on an island down on the right.

Scarlett is so happy but she knows she won't be able to go because she will be getting married soon but Tella gets her to go. It's an unsavory way but Scarlett, Tella and Julian (whom Tella met while he was visiting their island) all end up at Caraval. And it's crayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! Things and people are not what they seem.

And they say that Legend creeps around watching people. You also have the choice of watching the show or participating in the show to get a special wish at the end if you are the winner. But the show can drive you mad.

Turns out Tella is put into the show and everyone in the show must find her or she could die! What? Julian decides to help Scarlett out and it's so freaking good!

I'm shutting my mouth and not saying another thing because you need to read it and find yourself in the crazy land of Caraval. I wonder where the next book will take us!

Rise Of Empire by Michael J. Sullivan

A PUPPET IS CROWNED. THE TRUE HEIR REMAINS HIDDEN. A ROGUE'S SECRET COULD CHANGE EVERYTHING.

War has come to Melengar and once more Royce and Hadrian are hired to make a desperate gamble and form an alliance with the Nationalists whom are fighting the Imperialists in the south. As the power of the Nyphron Empire grows, so does Royce's suspicion that the wizard Esrahaddon is using the thieves as pawns in his own grab for power. To find the truth, he must unravel the secret of Hadrian's past--what he discovers may end their friendship and break Riyria in two. @goodreads

MY REVIEW:

5 STARS

I grow to love Royce & Hadrian more and more as I read the books. These two characters are just so wonderful and I feel they fit together nicely as best friends and family.

 :

Even when one is mad with the other they just get it done and get over it.

"You ready?" Royce asked.
"For what?"
"Turn around. Let's go back-to-back and link arms."
"You're kidding. We aren't going to do that again, are we?"
Hadrian said miserably. "I've been sitting in cold water for hours. I'll cramp."

"You know another way to get up there?" Royce asked, and Hadrian shook his head. Royce looked up. "It isn't even as high as the last time and it's narrower, so it'll be easier. Stand up and stretch a second. You'll be fine."

"What if the guard is up there with a stick to poke us with?"

"Do you want to get out of here or not?"

Hadrian took a deep breathe. "I'm still mad at you," he said, turning and linking arms back-to-back with Royce.

•••••••

"Weapons?" Hadrian asked.
"I'll check the house. You see about getting horses."
"Don't kill anyone," Hadrian mentioned.
"I'll try not to, but if I see Luret--"
"Oh yeah, kill him."

In this book they are trying to help Arista get some things done, win some people over so they can fight the bigger enemy.

Arista put on her big girl panties and got down to the nitty gritty with the boys even though she's royalty and I loved her spunk and lovely attitude through-out the book.

"Just a few questions I thought you would be able to shed some light on," Royce told him. "Why don't we talk in your study while Hadrian and Arista get out of their wet things? Is it all right if we spend the night here?"

"Certainly. I'll have dinner brought up, although you picked a bad day; the kitchen is serving meat pies." He made a grimace.

Arista stood stiffly, feeling her heart still racing. She narrowed her eyes and glared. "I hate all of you."

There are some revelations that Hadrian learns about when they all go back to his homeland. Now he feels he needs to go on his own quest but he wanted to do something like that before.

Royce has his own mind set on a different life too and it makes me happy. BUT, they better not split up and they better keep going on in other books. And then be friends and hang out forever. lol

Some people I liked died in the book but that is a given.

Either way, I just love this book. I love the camaraderie between the boys. I love the other people that are in the books. Arista, Gwen, Esrahaddon, Modina and many more. There is a whole other part of the book dedicated to Modina but I didn't want to talk too much about her for reasons. I do wonder about her and if she's something else entirely.

Anyway, I loved the book!

I'm so hoping Michael J. Sullivan doesn't kill the boys later on! I always dread moving on to the next book for that fear! AND NO ONE TELL ME IF HE DOES, unless of course he doesn't then that's okay. lol

Brandon Sanderson! You do it every time!

This book is so freaking good!

I cried in this book because of something sad and then it wasn't sad because of reasons but I'm not sure because of . . .

I cried because of the REVELATIONS, REVELATIONS, REVELATIONS! They were so freaking awesome that I can't evennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!

I've seen Steelheart bleed.
And I will see him bleed again.

Yes, we all know that line. Those that have read the book. This is what David thinks when 10 years ago his father was killed by Steelheart. Now David is 18 and he's looking to join The Reckoners.

I loved everyone one of those Reckoners too. They are just ordinary people that won't stand for how the Epics have taken over the world. They are evil beings that have damn near destroyed everything and the Reckoners are here to take them out!

A lot of the world has been totally destroyed by some Epics but Steelheart has his town running smoothly. Some think this is okay because they have more than most, and others, not so much.

When David helps the Reckoners on a hit, he finally gets to meet them and gets his chance to prove to them he's smart, he's done research for 10 years on these Epics, and he means business. They let him in after some stuff and it's awesome. He's awesome. They are all awesome!

Prof
Cody
Abraham
Megan
Tia
David

I love each of them for their own abilities and personalities!

This book is action packed with a lot of shootings, bombings, spy stuff, some creepy Epics, some weird Epics and one nice Epic. They have to find weaknesses to all the Epics because they are almost impossible to kill. ALMOST . . .

I had a blast reading this book. And the ending, it was so EPIC <--- =) that I can hardly stand it. Why did I even have a little niggle of a doubt that I might not like this trilogy? Stupidity reigns supreme I guess =)

The Sleeping Prince by Melinda Salisbury

Return to the darkly beautiful world of The Sin Eater's Daughter with a sequel that will leave you awed, terrified . . . and desperate for more.

Ever since her brother Lief disappeared, Errin's life has gone from bad to worse. Not only must she care for her sick mother, she has to scrape together rent money by selling illegal herbal cures. But none of that compares to the threat of the vengeful Sleeping Prince whom the Queen just awoke from his enchanted sleep.

When her village is evacuated as part of the war against the Sleeping Prince, Errin is left desperate and homeless. The only person she can turn to is the mysterious Silas, a young man who buys deadly poisons from Errin, but won't reveal why he needs them. Silas promises to help her, but when he vanishes, Errin must journey across a kingdom on the brink of war to seek another way to save her mother and herself. But what she finds shatters everything she believed about her world, and with the Sleeping Prince drawing nearer, Errin must make a heartbreaking choice that could affect the whole kingdom @goodreads

MY REVIEW:

4 STARS

I fell right in love with Silas as he is in this book so much doing good things and he has secrets, but I know what they are. . . mwahahahaahah.

So Errin is living in a hovel of a home that she rents from some jerk named Unwin. Her mother has some kind of disease that makes her crazy when the full moon is out. Poor Errin is trying to keep her mother locked away, making potions to sell to Silas to help her and her mother. Errin's brother Lief is also missing. Everything seems like doom and gloom.

which

it actually is because The Sleeping Prince was awakened by the queen and now he's wreaking havoc across the land with his golems. Killing everything in his path . . . well almost everything. There are things he wants and he will get that at whatever cost.

Of course now I need the next book to see what is going to happen with that ending.

One prophecy has come to pass, but another looms dauntingly in the future. Who is this Deliverer? And if the Magonians have him, what might that mean for the realm of Armania? @goodreads

MY REVIEW:

I had a really hard time reading this book. The font was very tiny and I have read tiny font before but this was either more tiny than most or tiny and not very bold in color. So I got through it the best I could, mostly with a flashlight to brighten things up!

I enjoyed the first book in The Kinsman Chronicles and this sequel is good too. I'm not sure if I love one better than the other but that doesn't matter. In this book they were all traveling on the sea to find somewhere else to live since there was chaos and destruction in the first book. And of course they had many different troubles.

The two characters I love the most are Trevn and Mielle. I just loved them and they had a lot to go through what with magic, monsters, trying to find a new home. And Mielle's sister Amala was horrible! She seemed to be evil incarnate to me.

Anyway, I liked Wilek who was king for a bit and then had to fight giants and what not. There was also some weird magic going on in the book too.

Overall I enjoyed this book even though some people I liked were killed but that is the way it goes in these books =(

I received a print copy of this book through BethanyHouse.

The X-Files Origins: Devil's Advocate will explore the teen years of Dana Scully, the beloved character depicted in the cult-favorite TV show The X-Files. Her story is set in the spring of 1979, when serial murder, the occult, and government conspiracy were highlighted in the news.

The book will follow Scully as she experiences life-changing events that set her on the path to becoming an FBI agent.

Don’t miss The X-Files Origins: Agent of Chaos, by Kami Garcia, about 17-year-old Fox Mulder.@goodreads

MY REVIEW:

Young Scully. She's a loner, mostly hanging out with her sister, Melissa, taking martial arts, doing yoga, oh and going to school. She does have a little love interest for a bit =)

There is some crazy stuff going on where Dana and her family moved. Kids are getting killed in a numerous amount car accidents. Dana is seeing ghosts, the devil or angels or something.

and THEN . . .

some things are found out and this is what Scully becomes in her adult life ↓

Granted, I can understand why after all of this stuff goes down, Scully would be a skeptic. BUT <-- there's always a but . . . just because this one super cray incident happened when she was younger doesn't mean that it's always some kind of a hoax or not real, what have you. It was pretty messed up, but I digress.

I still love Scully and I loved the way Jonathan Maberry depicted young Scully in the book =)

Now, when are the authors going to write more stories of young Mulder and young Scully because some of us want more!

My September Owlcrate Box! I wasn't sure I was going to read this book, but I am now of course :-)

 :

I didn't like much of anything about this book but the ending.

And NOT because it was the ending, I mean the ending was really good. I will get the next book from the library just to see what happens because some things that I thought might be happening did but in a different way <--- which only makes sense to me. AND there is the note of revenge! I love revenge and this person deserves revenge!!!!!!!!!! REVENGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, a momentary lapse of reason.

I'm so glad that I wasn't alone in not really liking the book. I hate when I feel so alone. The book has people that love it or hate or in between. It just wasn't for me. I didn't much like anyone but Jules and Arsineo seemed nice. Katharine I felt sorry for the whole time, BUT .... and Mirabella just ugg.

The Winner's Kiss by Marie Rutkoski

Some kisses come at a price.

War has begun. Arin is in the thick of it with untrustworthy new allies and the empire as his enemy. Though he has convinced himself that he no longer loves Kestrel, Arin hasn’t forgotten her, or how she became exactly the kind of person he has always despised. She cared more for the empire than she did for the lives of innocent people—and certainly more than she did for him.

At least, that’s what he thinks.

In the frozen north, Kestrel is a prisoner in a brutal work camp. As she searches desperately for a way to escape, she wishes Arin could know what she sacrificed for him. She wishes she could make the empire pay for what they’ve done to her.

But no one gets what they want just by wishing.

As the war intensifies, both Kestrel and Arin discover that the world is changing. The East is pitted against the West, and they are caught in between. With so much to lose, can anybody really win?

MY REVIEW:

 Satisfied with this ending =)

 :

So lets talk spoilers =)

 :

So many things took a turn in this book.

Kestrel was found out! She had been supplying information to a spy for Arin and the Herrani. Of course, Arin didn't know this because Kestrel had to keep him at a safe distance. Otherwise he would do a dick move and get them all killed.

Arin is a twat at times and he thought everything Kestrel did to make him not like her was true. Men! So he decides he doesn't care for her any more. Yeah. . . .

Meanwhile. . . . Kestrel's father finds a letter she had written to Arin coming clean about helping him and loving him and wanting to be with him. That twat of a father let the emperor read the letter and they put Kestrel in a prison!!!!!!!!! Your own father. Pffft!

In this prison, Kestrel was drugged morning and night. They were too different drugs. One was to wake her up and energized to work in the caves where they got the powder. What's it called, the cannon powder - anyway the stuff to blow sh•t up.

At night she was given a drug to make her sleepy so she wouldn't put up a fight. All of the prisoners were given the same drugs in their food and they all lost their memories and became drug addicts. Fun times!

Then some dude comes and gives Kestrel a key to escape so she stops eating and drinking to get a little sense back into her. BUT, she's an idiot and does get free but makes stupid moves and gets caught. SLAP her.

BUT THEN, Arin finds things out and he comes to her rescue. Then we have to go on the journey of her getting off the drugs, remembering who she is and who Arin is and what her father did to her.

She helps out in the war Arin is fighting against her father. Her father gets wounded but not killed and they just keep him around.

Kestrel goes and kills the emperor! Oh happy day!

The emperor knocked over the wine. He seized up against the table, hand clamped around Kestrel's dagger.

She stepped back from the table as he shuddered against it. She felt a relief. It plunged straight into exhaustion.

"I lied," Kestrel told him.

The emperor tried to push himself upright. She thought he might be trying to do something with the dagger, but his arm had gone rigid. It thumped into the spilled red wine.

"I lied when I said I hadn't come to murder you."

His eyes were wide, stark.

"It never mattered whether I won or lost the game," Kestrel said. "Only how long the poison would take to kill you. It comes from a tiny eastern worm. In its purest form, the poison is clear. It dries to a shine. I painted it onto four Bite and Sting tiles. You touched them."

Foam dribbled from his locked mouth.

His breath rasped. It became glottal, the sound of bubbles popping.

Then it ended

I mean if your an evil b••tard long enough your bound to get killed right?

Anyway, I liked this book better than the second book. Overall, I enjoyed the trilogy =)

4 STARS

I picked this up awhile ago because I wanted to see how good the old school Wonder Woman would be in the graphic novel. The stories were good. Some of the graphics were really good and some were just okay. Some of them looked just liked Linda Carter and that was awesome!

I will leave you with a few pics in the book!

A Storm Of Swords by George R.R. Martin

Here is the third volume in George R.R. Martin's magnificent cycle of novels that includes A Game of Thrones and A Clash of Kings. Together, this series comprises a genuine masterpiece of modern fantasy, destined to stand as one of the great achievements of imaginative fiction.

Of the five contenders for power, one is dead, another in disfavor, and still the wars rage as alliances are made and broken. Joffrey sits on the Iron Throne, the uneasy ruler of the Seven Kingdoms. His most bitter rival, Lord Stannis, stands defeated and disgraced, victim of the sorceress who holds him in her thrall. Young Robb still rules the North from the fortress of Riverrun. Meanwhile, making her way across a blood-drenched continent is the exiled queen, Daenerys, mistress of the only three dragons still left in the world. And as opposing forces manoeuver for the final showdown, an army of barbaric wildlings arrives from the outermost limits of civilization, accompanied by a horde of mythical Others—a supernatural army of the living dead whose animated corpses are unstoppable. As the future of the land hangs in the balance, no one will rest until the Seven Kingdoms have exploded in a veritable storm of swords...

**OKAY, SPOILERS FOR THOSE THAT HAVEN'T READ IT YET**

Reading this was cray because I keep looking to see if I had read it before! I thought why is so much of this familiar. Then I thought, "Oh yeah, stupid, you own and have watched all of the current shows!" <--- I mean duh!

I was going to give this one 4 stars because it's the one where they kill more of the Stark's and wolf and I wanted to go in, turn into my own dragon and burn them all down!

but then . . .

THIS ↓

Oh happy day! Oh happy day! What joy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love so many people on the show and in the books. But my favorites are:

1) Jon
2) Tyrion
3) Arya
4) Daenerys
5) Brienne
6) Sam
7) Sansa

in no particular order because I tried that one already.

In the book there were certain scenes I liked better than I did in the shows. I love the shows and I love the books so far. But, in this book there were more parts with dialogue that I really enjoyed. My favorite in this book were the scenes between Brienne and Jaime. I know, you didn't see that coming right? I mean you would think it would have been all the parts about Jon since he's my hunneh bunneh but nope. I liked his parts better in the show and nooo it's not because I can look at him in the show. Although. . . nevermind.

I just felt like there was so much more to Brienne and Jaime's time together in the book. I wished he would have quit calling her ugly and such though. Jerk, but they did seem to be friends of a sort at the end of their time and I liked that.

The things you miss in any book is the commentary in someone's head. Of course some I would rather not read about. But I really loved the parts where we could read Tyrion's thoughts about Sansa. They were sweet and true and sad in many ways.

Overall I enjoyed the book because of the parts with Joffrey dying. Bwhahahahaahahahahahahah!
And the parts with Brienne and Jaime. I loved all of my other characters parts but these were the highlight moments for me.

Or course you know when you get rid of one evil b•stard, along comes another one!
