The Gutter Prayer by Gareth Hanrahan

A group of three young thieves are pulled into a centuries old magical war between ancient beings, mages, and humanity in this wildly original debut epic fantasy.

The city has always been. The city must finally end.

When three thieves - an orphan, a ghoul, and a cursed man - are betrayed by the master of the thieves guild, their quest for revenge uncovers dark truths about their city and exposes a dangerous conspiracy, the seeds of which were sown long before they were born.Cari is a drifter whose past and future are darker than she can know.

Rat is a Ghoul, whose people haunt the city's underworld.

Spar is a Stone Man, subject to a terrible disease that is slowly petrifying his flesh.

Chance has brought them together, but their friendship could be all that stands in the way of total armageddon

The Walking Dead Supply Drop Unboxing DECEMBER Merry Christmas

On a rainy Sunday, the day before Christmas Eve, what arrives on my doorstep to my complete surprise =) Yes, my Walking Dead Subscription box! We have some awesome things in here my friends. And there are some cameo appearances of my dog, Lucy. Enjoy =)

We have the beautiful box all decorated like an ugly sweater. I would wear this if possible!

This is what it looked like when I opened the box!

We have an amazing hoodie with Daryl's wings on the back and down the sleeve it says, "Fear the Dead. Fight the living."

Next we have a winter hat/beanie with TWD printed on the front. These came in 3 different colors. I got the black one and there is a green one and red one.

Next is a the book "The Art Of Peace" I already bought one because of Morgan but this one I will treasure. It's in a beautiful box with Morgan on the back and inside is an inscription from Eastman, the man he stayed with in Season 6. There is also a cute little bookmark with two sides for the book.

Next we have the cutest little buttons of Carol and Ezekiel! They have a cool picture of this season 9 where they are on their horses on the front and a picture of them with her ring on the back =)

We also have some Walking Dead wrapping paper that you know I will never open and use because I just can't. :D

Then we have this awesome peace of artwork that I'm going to frame and put on the wall. Daryl, Michonne, and Carol, the last of the last. This came with a certificate of authenticity from the artist.

And we have the big poster size thing that tells what all is in the box.

The next few pictures are just the things laid out together and some with Lucy and the stuff. I was lazy and took the pictures from cancer pad on the floor. I'm still sleeping in the living from floor for the time being. We are working on making my room better before me going to it.

I love the pics with my greyhound sweetheart in them =)

I hope you guys have enjoyed the pics. I love this box so much!!

Until next time....

Fairyloot December 2018 Unboxing

It's time once again to do an unboxing. Fairyloot did inform me they left out an item in some of the boxes and I will receive it later.

We get a double-sided picture of Manon and Abraxos and Toothless. I don't like double sided because I will be framing the side with Manon. But they are both still beautiful.

We have some more beautiful artwork I want to frame and the bookmark.

Next is a blank banner...... yes, that's what I was thinking and they said it's for hanging your buttons! I got really excited because I have a few buttons I was wondering what to do with and now I have something =)

Next is an awesome glow in the dark Dragon necklace!

We have two tarot cards but it doesn't say what they are from. I think it was mentioned in an email but I can't remember; either way they are gorgeous.

We got an awesome dragon book sleeve and dragon reading  journal! I love them!

We got two books this month. The first is an ARC of The Storm Crow and the other book is Fire & Heist! I hope I enjoy both of them.

And I was supposed to get a mother of dragons magnetic bookmark set =( That was what was left out but they are still sending. They said a few of the customers got missed. I'm assuming it was all of us to the US.

Anyway,

Happy Reading!

Who I Am With You by Robin Lee Hatcher

For these two broken hearts, the first step toward love will be a huge leap of faith.

Jessica Mason isn’t looking for love when she meets Ridley Chesterfield. Instead she is still reeling from the tragic, unexpected loss of her husband and daughter—and awaiting the arrival of her unborn child. Harboring the secret of her husband’s betrayal, her pain is deeper than anyone knows.

Ridley Chesterfield is hiding out in Hope Springs, Idaho, avoiding a political scandal and the barrage of false media headlines that have tarnished his good name. The last thing Ridley wants is a relationship—but when fate leads Ridley to form a friendship with his reclusive and pregnant neighbor, he wonders if this small-town hideout might be more of a long-term destination.

When Jessica begins to read her great-grandfather’s Bible, she finds a connection with a man she never knew. Somehow the verses he marked and the words he wrote in the margins open her heart to healing. And as Ridley and Jessica help each other forgive the people who have wronged them, they must decide if the past will define them or if they will choose to love again.

Who I Am With You weaves together a modern-day romance with Jessica’s great-grandfather’s story from the 1930s, reminding us that some truths can cross generations and that faith has the power to transform families forever.

This book is filled with heartache. I really felt for Jessica. She's supposed to be mourning her grandmother but she keeps thinking of her husband and daughter that she lost in an accident recently. She's also pregnant and has the usual fears of being a single mother.

Jessica has other worries on her mind. She hasn't told anyone a secret about her husband and it can tear a person apart.

Jessica receives her great grandfather's Bible and through faith and hope she will find something good just around the corner.

Ridley has his own problems and he's not looking for a romance either. But sometimes God has other plans in store for you.

I think this was a wonderful book with all of the feels involved. I recommend to those that want a feel good book but has to go through a bit of sadness to get there.

*I received a print copy of this book through BookLookBloggers.*

Happy Reading!

True Places by Sonja Yoerg

A girl emerges from the woods, starved, ill, and alone…and collapses.

Suzanne Blakemore hurtles along the Blue Ridge Parkway, away from her overscheduled and completely normal life, and encounters the girl. As Suzanne rushes her to the hospital, she never imagines how the encounter will change her—a change she both fears and desperately needs.

Suzanne has the perfect house, a successful husband, and a thriving family. But beneath the veneer of an ideal life, her daughter is rebelling, her son is withdrawing, her husband is oblivious to it all, and Suzanne is increasingly unsure of her place in the world. After her discovery of the ethereal sixteen-year-old who has never experienced civilization, Suzanne is compelled to invite Iris into her family’s life and all its apparent privileges.

But Iris has an independence, a love of solitude, and a discomfort with materialism that contrasts with everything the Blakemores stand for—qualities that awaken in Suzanne first a fascination, then a longing. Now Suzanne can’t help but wonder: Is she destined to save Iris, or is Iris the one who will save her?

This book was wonderful!

Fog hung in the trees, a hush of silvery damp, but the girl could tell the sun would burn through before long and dry the grasses hunched under the weight of dew

The cabin stood in a small clearing, and the trees surrounding it had strained toward the heavens for a long time, long enough for the trunks to have become too thick for the girl to enclose them in the circle of her arms, long enough for anyone with decency to fall silent in reverence.

The fog had disappeared as surreptitiously as it has come. The sun was high and all the green in the world was rising toward it. She listened as she climbed, her skin and each of her senses bound together into solid awareness. Everything surrounds her, impinging on her, she felt and knew

One day Suzanne had enough; she had to get away from the family and her responsibilities for just a little while so she decided to just drive a little bit. She found a little girl next to the woods and took her to the hospital. This is where the story of Iris truly begins. What happened to her parents? Why did she live in the woods?

"People. People want to know things about you. People want you to follow rules. People put chemicals in the water, and ruin good food and hurt animals and waste things that are precious. People won't let you live a simple, good life." She faced him. " I don't need people, and I don't want them."

But life is going to take a different turn for Iris because Suzanne can't leave her alone in a world she knows nothing about.

Suzanne twisted to look across the treetops and roofs to the rolling hills and the mountains beyond. She imagined Iris wandering along the ridges, drinking from the streams, searching for food, sleeping on the forest floor, untethered and unaccountable to anyone but herself. Now Suzanne imagined not Iris but herself, alone in the woods. The thought made her heart beat faster, and for an instant she wasn't certain whether it was from fear or excitement.

I loved how this book had POV's for Suzanne, her husband, two kids and Iris. We get to find out little things about each of them.

I loved Suzanne's son, Reid. He was a big cool dude! I hated the daughter, Brynn until the end. And I didn't like the husband, Whit, on and off until the end as well. And I'm so glad this book had a happy ending for everyone. The book had my feel good ending!

She finished clearing the plants away and squatted on her heels with one hand on the top of the marker, listening. The wind sighed through the tops of the trees, shifting the pattern of light falling to the forest floor. A pair of dusky-blue butterflies, no bigger than her thumbnail, danced in a shifting column of light, then alighted, first one, then the other, on the damp ground, violet blue against brown, before twirling upward once more. Beyond the clearing, in the undergrowth, a bird kicked through the leaf litter. A towhee.

Happy Reading!
