I fell right in love with Silas as he is in this book so much doing good
things and he has secrets, but I know what they are. . . mwahahahaahah.
So
Errin is living in a hovel of a home that she rents from some jerk
named Unwin. Her mother has some kind of disease that makes her crazy
when the full moon is out. Poor Errin is trying to keep her mother
locked away, making potions to sell to Silas to help her and her mother.
Errin's brother Lief is also missing. Everything seems like doom and
gloom.
which
it actually is because The Sleeping Prince
was awakened by the queen and now he's wreaking havoc across the land
with his golems. Killing everything in his path . . . well almost
everything. There are things he wants and he will get that at whatever
cost.
Of course now I need the next book to see what is going to happen with that ending.

I had a really hard time reading this book. The font was very tiny and I
have read tiny font before but this was either more tiny than most or
tiny and not very bold in color. So I got through it the best I could,
mostly with a flashlight to brighten things up!
I enjoyed the
first book in The Kinsman Chronicles and this sequel is good too. I'm
not sure if I love one better than the other but that doesn't matter. In
this book they were all traveling on the sea to find somewhere else to
live since there was chaos and destruction in the first book. And of
course they had many different troubles.
The two characters I
love the most are Trevn and Mielle. I just loved them and they had a lot
to go through what with magic, monsters, trying to find a new home. And
Mielle's sister Amala was horrible! She seemed to be evil incarnate to
me.
Anyway, I liked Wilek who was king for a bit and then had to
fight giants and what not. There was also some weird magic going on in
the book too.
Overall I enjoyed this book even though some people I liked were killed but that is the way it goes in these books =(

Young Scully. She's a loner, mostly hanging out with her sister,
Melissa, taking martial arts, doing yoga, oh and going to school. She
does have a little love interest for a bit =)
There is some crazy
stuff going on where Dana and her family moved. Kids are getting killed
in a numerous amount car accidents. Dana is seeing ghosts, the devil or
angels or something.
and THEN . . .
some things are found out and this is what Scully becomes in her adult life ↓
Granted,
I can understand why after all of this stuff goes down, Scully would be
a skeptic. BUT <-- there's always a but . . . just because this one
super cray incident happened when she was younger doesn't mean that it's
always some kind of a hoax or not real, what have you. It was pretty
messed up, but I digress.
I still love Scully and I loved the way Jonathan Maberry depicted young Scully in the book =)
Now, when are the authors going to write more stories of young Mulder and young Scully because some of us want more!

My September Owlcrate Box! I wasn't sure I was going to read this book, but I am now of course :-)
I didn't like much of anything about this book but the ending. 
And
NOT because it was the ending, I mean the ending was really good. I
will get the next book from the library just to see what happens because
some things that I thought might be happening did but in a different
way <--- which only makes sense to me. AND there is the note of
revenge! I love revenge and this person deserves revenge!!!!!!!!!!

I'm
so glad that I wasn't alone in not really liking the book. I hate when I
feel so alone. The book has people that love it or hate or in between.
It just wasn't for me. I didn't much like anyone but Jules and Arsineo
seemed nice. Katharine I felt sorry for the whole time, BUT .... and
Mirabella just ugg.
Anyhoo, I'm hope in the next book the REVENGE gets to happen. And uh, the other stuff I'm not telling you about. =)

Satisfied with this ending =)
So lets talk spoilers =)
So many things took a turn in this book.
Kestrel
was found out! She had been supplying information to a spy for Arin and
the Herrani. Of course, Arin didn't know this because Kestrel had to
keep him at a safe distance. Otherwise he would do a dick move and get
them all killed.
Arin is a twat at times and he thought
everything Kestrel did to make him not like her was true. Men! So he
decides he doesn't care for her any more. Yeah. . . .
Meanwhile.
. . . Kestrel's father finds a letter she had written to Arin coming
clean about helping him and loving him and wanting to be with him. That
twat of a father let the emperor read the letter and they put Kestrel in
a prison!!!!!!!!! Your own father. Pffft!
In this prison,
Kestrel was drugged morning and night. They were too different drugs.
One was to wake her up and energized to work in the caves where they got
the powder. What's it called, the cannon powder - anyway the stuff to
blow sh•t up.
At night she was given a drug to make her sleepy
so she wouldn't put up a fight. All of the prisoners were given the same
drugs in their food and they all lost their memories and became drug
addicts. Fun times!
Then some dude comes and gives Kestrel a key
to escape so she stops eating and drinking to get a little sense back
into her. BUT, she's an idiot and does get free but makes stupid moves
and gets caught. SLAP her.
BUT THEN, Arin finds things out and
he comes to her rescue. Then we have to go on the journey of her getting
off the drugs, remembering who she is and who Arin is and what her
father did to her.
She helps out in the war Arin is fighting
against her father. Her father gets wounded but not killed and they just
keep him around.
Kestrel goes and kills the emperor! Oh happy day!
The emperor knocked over the wine. He seized up against the table, hand clamped around Kestrel's dagger.
She stepped back from the table as he shuddered against it. She felt a relief. It plunged straight into exhaustion.
"I lied," Kestrel told him.
The
emperor tried to push himself upright. She thought he might be trying
to do something with the dagger, but his arm had gone rigid. It thumped
into the spilled red wine.
"I lied when I said I hadn't come to murder you."
His eyes were wide, stark.
"It
never mattered whether I won or lost the game," Kestrel said. "Only how
long the poison would take to kill you. It comes from a tiny eastern
worm. In its purest form, the poison is clear. It dries to a shine. I
painted it onto four Bite and Sting tiles. You touched them."
Foam dribbled from his locked mouth.
His breath rasped. It became glottal, the sound of bubbles popping.
Then it ended
I mean if your an evil b••tard long enough your bound to get killed right?
Anyway, I liked this book better than the second book. Overall, I enjoyed the trilogy =)

**OKAY, SPOILERS FOR THOSE THAT HAVEN'T READ IT YET**
Reading
this was cray because I keep looking to see if I had read it before! I
thought why is so much of this familiar. Then I thought, "Oh yeah,
stupid, you own and have watched all of the current shows!" <--- I
mean duh!
I was going to give this one 4 stars because it's the
one where they kill more of the Stark's and wolf and I wanted to go in,
turn into my own dragon and burn them all down! 
but then . . . THIS ↓

I love so many people on the show and in the books. But my favorites are:
1) Jon
2) Tyrion
3) Arya
4) Daenerys
5) Brienne
6) Sam
7) Sansa
in no particular order because I tried that one already.
In
the book there were certain scenes I liked better than I did in the
shows. I love the shows and I love the books so far. But, in this book
there were more parts with dialogue that I really enjoyed. My favorite
in this book were the scenes between Brienne and Jaime. I know, you
didn't see that coming right? I mean you would think it would have been
all the parts about Jon since he's my hunneh bunneh but nope. I liked
his parts better in the show and nooo it's not because I can look at him
in the show. Although. . . nevermind. 
I
just felt like there was so much more to Brienne and Jaime's time
together in the book. I wished he would have quit calling her ugly and
such though. Jerk, but they did seem to be friends of a sort at the end
of their time and I liked that.
The things you miss in any book
is the commentary in someone's head. Of course some I would rather not
read about. But I really loved the parts where we could read Tyrion's
thoughts about Sansa. They were sweet and true and sad in many ways.
Overall I enjoyed the book because of the parts with Joffrey dying. Bwhahahahaahahahahahahah!
And the parts with Brienne and Jaime. I loved all of my other characters parts but these were the highlight moments for me.
Or course you know when you get rid of one evil b•stard, along comes another one!
